FAQs

I’m Here for You

You offer so many services.  How do I choose one?

I would recommend starting with my initial office intake.  This would be the most in depth as far as getting you on the road to health.  We will work together to come up with a treatment plan that you are comfortable with, depending on your goals.  That being said, you are welcome to try any of the services in whatever order to see what works for you.

Do you help treat terminal or chronic illness?

There are many case studies showing that homeopathy has helped terminal and chronic illness.  However, as a Naturopathic Doctor, I do not treat specific illnesses, but I focus on the whole person.  My therapies are set up to help build up your body/mind/spirit and allow your body's natural healing ability to improve your health naturally.

What should I complete before my initial office intake?

In order to save some time during the appointment, I will send you an intake form fill out prior to the appointment.  This can be submitted through the online portal that you set up when you book online.  The questions run the gamut of what makes you you and deal with medical history, personality traits, habits, and they can get very personal.

What should I expect for my initial office intake?

Bring any current supplements and medications with you to your first appointment.  I want to make the most of your time here, so I will have already conducted a repertorization of your case that we will talk about when you arrive.  This will give me an idea as to your customized homeopathic remedy and recommendations for determinants of health.  I will then have you set your cell phone and jewelry aside and begin your electro-dermal screening.  An initial baseline will test both hands and both feet.  This will give us a priority starting point for which organ systems that we will support.  We will then test different supplements and anything you brought to see what brings that organ system into balance.  Once the screening is complete, we will have a conversation about goals and develop your treatment plan together.

How long does a typical appointment take?

The initial intake is very in-depth and personal and you should plan on being here about 2 hours.  Craniosacral and constitutional hydrotherapy each take about 1 hour.  The sound therapy session lasts about 30-40 minutes.  Follow up office visits are usually about 30-40 minutes.

Sound therapy?  How can sound actually help my health?

Sound is vibration.  Even at the atomic level, matter is made up of electrons moving around a central nucleus by unseen forces.  This motion creates vibrations.  All vibrations can be objectively measured as frequency.  So every atom operates at a particular frequency.  Matter, including the cells in your body have a set frequency that it operates optimally.  When introduced to different frequencies using sound, these cells can change to synchronize with the sound, leaving the body more resonant, tuned, and balanced on both a physical and energetic level.

What is constitutional hydrotherapy?  Isn't it just a massage with water?

Constitutional hydrotherapy is a therapy that is based on the "water cure" therapy made popular by Father Sebastian Kneipp from Germany just prior to 1900.  It was later introduced in the US by Dr. Benedict Lust, who was cured by Father Kneipp and was determined to bring this therapy to as many people as he could.  It uses a combination of hot and cold compresses on the chest/abdomen and back in series.  This activates both circulation and lymph flow to balance the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems.  This is extremely effective in building up the immune system, stimulating digestion, and allowing the adrenals and nervous system to rest and restore.

What is craniosacral therapy?

This is a therapy that was developed through extensive work in the early 1980s by osteopathic physician John Upledger.  This is a very gentle adjustment of the head, neck, and spine that can remove blocks and improve circulation of the cerebral spinal fluid that travels up and down the spine.  This adjustment can improve the functioning of both central nervous system as well as extending out to the extremities.  This can help with symptoms of headaches, migraines, learning disabilities, dementia, PTSD, and more.
